Computer based training or a CBT uses a personal computer or computers connected to a central network to deliver synchronous training outside of in-person training sessions. A CBT is used so a learner can access the CBT online, through a mobile device or through LMS or a Learning Management System.
CBTs can be expensive to develop so these are usually done for training that needs to be accessed by a large group of learners and through and LMS can be used to keep track of learners’ progress and certification.
I have also used video in instructional design crating Work sharpers or short tutorials for team members to learn new skills.
Here's a list that links to some of the currently active FDOT CBT's I was team lead on designing.
Below are more CBTs with more in depth explanation about each project and screenshots of sections within the CBT. These CBTs are lall compliant with state and federal 508 standards which is required for digital information to be accessible to those with disabilities.
